READ THE CLEAREST LINE - 2020
The fact to understand ... 2020 was never going to be normal ... is the best thing we can all do!
The 'government' in 2018 suggested that GP's would NOW be advised to recommend the arts...learn an instrument, visit a gallery, join a craft club as a valuable method of fixing one's self – with a plan to be fully functional by 2023 - fast forward a few years and the very 'industry' it was about to rely on is being smashed to smithereens in a way the world did not foresee ... therapy of the arts (instead of pushing pills) 2020 and there is little chance of this becoming a reality at all if they don't support the very structure they intended to use! GONE - to be replaced by perhaps nothingness.
Working in print and using my memory bank of sentences, held firmly in my mind come to the surface, unravelling my story.
I intend, over the coming months to unfold stories, excavated from the depths of my brain.
The little filing cabinet of treasures awaiting discovery! The cathartic process of intertwining art and memory... 'apparently' chasing an un-viable path... the chosen career of a creative.
CATHARTIC HEALING IT’S WHAT I DO BEST
I AM AN ARTIST NOT A CRIMINAL
You look at me in a worried manner
seeking to question constantly
why my world is mine
what I do daily, what do I do with my time
I can answer you quite politely
in fact, I can answer you in rhyme
It's fuck all to do with you honey
what's yours is yours so keep your nose out
what's mine is most definitely mine
worry about your own shit
fall into your bottomless pit
It's fuck all to do with you honey
WHAT'S MINE IS DEFINITELY MINE
For some, the contribution of the arts sector is regarded in a different light – a ‘bit part’ rather than an instrumental partner in efforts to keep the nation healthy and happy. Yet the evidence of its impact tells us otherwise.

SINGING is proven to release dopamine and promote a sense of belonging when conducted among a group... DANCING releases more endorphins than typical aerobic movement, also successful at reducing cortisol levels. Since cortisol is a stress hormone, this is another reason that dancing can increase feelings of happiness and relaxation

Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock speaks to the King's Fund about the benefits of social prescribing... We’re here to talk prevention. And if there’s one thing that everybody knows it’s: ‘prevention is better than cure’... When I was thinking about prevention I looked into where this comes from. I’m told it was Erasmus, the 16th century Dutch philosopher, who coined the insight.

https://cueartfoundation.org/solo-exhibition-proposal-tips
Use simple language, avoiding art jargon and buzzwords.
Open with a strong, clear sentence that succinctly communicates your idea.
Write directly, and avoid using the conditional or future tenses. “The exhibition addresses ______,” is a stronger phrase than, “The exhibition would address/ will address/ seeks to address______.”
Be specific when writing about your work. Rather than describing your practice generally, write about a specific project or artwork that you want to use, and make a clear, compelling case for its inclusion.
Clearly describe the exhibition plan: how will viewers experience the work? Consider the scale and layout of the gallery space.
Ask questions! Proposals are often rejected because they aren’t realistic for the space.
Be sure to submit high-quality images of your work.
Ask for feedback from a friend or family member.
Read and follow all application instructions carefully

Why did you make the art that you made? What does it say about the world? What does it help people understand? What does it look like? What did you make it out of and how did you make it? How does it address the history of its medium? What sort of culture, topic, or issue does it describe?
